Three Books I Read on Vacation

My memory is really failing me for this week’s Top Ten Tuesday. I always bring a few books on vacation, but it’s been a while since I’ve gone on an overnight vacation, and life before the pandemic seems rather vague. Here’s some books I definitely remember reading, though:

1. This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald – I recall reading this novel on the plane back from our first trip to Hawaii (2013). I also recall the man sitting next to us was reading True Grit. 😀 Some weird stuff was going on in my life, so I was distracted and didn’t end up finishing this book at the time. I did read and enjoy it later, though.
2. The Present Age: On the Death of Rebellion by Søren Kierkegaard – Read this on our second trip to Hawaii. I was just getting into K and didn’t glean much from this book at the time, but I liked that it was pocket-sized, and it made me feel smart (LOL). It’s on my list to reread.
3. Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson – Can’t remember the trip or the year, but I am pretty sure I listened to this on a road trip. 🙂

It’s a pity I can’t remember more. We went on a bunch of great family vacations when I was a teenager, and books were always there in one shape or another.
