Ten years ago, I read South and fell in love with polar exploration. I was especially enamored of Ernest Shackleton’s memoirs of his trips to Antarctica. I have a couple more books about him to read and then I shall take an extended break before reading about Scott, Amundsen, and others.
Books I own and need to read:
- Shackleton – Roland Huntford (DNF, unsure if finishing)
- Shackleton’s Boat Journey – Frank Worsley (captain of HMS Endurance)
- Endurance: Shackleton’s Incredible Voyage – Alfred Lansing
- The Endurance: Shackleton’s Legendary Antarctic Expedition – Caroline Alexander
