   a charming presentation! i've read quite a few of them; exceptions are Shirley, and The Idiot… i've meant for years to read the latter, but the reviews have painted a pretty grim picture of it… since i'm old, i tend to prefer cheerful books: probably a character failing, one might say… or not… anyway, nice selection of books and a good idea… tx….

   I really enjoyed this video. I don't know about you but I find some covers and editions really irresistible. That is why I cannot buy a cheaper copy of a book if the edition does not appeal to me.Interesting that you file your books according to chronology. I have mine in alphabetical order and according to subject (fiction, biography etc..)Thanks for sharing this!

   The Idiot is certainly a tearjerker and a train wreck. That said, you may enjoy Shirley! I found it to be surprisingly enthralling, a snapshot of a Yorkshire family during the Napoleonic Era.

   Thanks, Sharon, it was fun to film! I am exactly the same way – I try to choose editions with pretty cover art, since it's part of the experience (and I spent too many years with drab library covers). I like the idea of organization by category! Forgot to mention in this video that I just moved my nonfic to a new bookshelf, so there is an overall division of fic vs. nonfic. 🙂
