Classics with a Unit of Time in the Title – Top Ten Tuesday

It’s been a minute since I did a TTT (no pun intended), and this prompt looked fun. Here goes!

  1. The Remains of the Day – Ishiguro
  2. The Present Age – Kierkegaard
  3. Around the World in Eighty Days – Verne
  4. Two Year’s Holiday – Verne
  5. Five Weeks in a Balloon – Verne (he’s saving the day here with these titles 😆 )
  6. The Last Days of Pompeii* – Bulwer-Lytton
  7. One Hundred Years of Solitude* – Márquez
  8. These Happy Golden Years – Wilder
  9. One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich* – Solzhenitsyn
  10. Seven Years in Tibet* – Harrer

(* = unread)

This was rather challenging. What did I miss??

  1. I’ve never read Around the World in Eighty Days. Someday I should!

  3. Someone else did a list of classics for this prompt. I had no idea there were so many units of time in those classic titles. Interesting!

    Happy TTT!

  4. Great list! I can’t think of very much, but I’d add Midnight’s Children by Salman Rushdie. It’s a great book, though it’s tough going at the beginning. Rushdie’s style takes some getting used to.
