The Books I’m Bringing on Holiday

Some old, some new, and three blue!

I was extremely happy to find this copy of The Black Spider at a charity shop. I know some people are sensitive to spider imagery so I have censored it out. 😉 Written by a Swiss pastor, it’s a novella about a village being attacked by spiders, with some (probably not too subtle) religious symbolism. I’m so intrigued by a book that wasn’t intending to be sci-fi and yet seems to follow a similar formula.

I will be spending some time on planes, which I think will be the perfect time to reread Passing by Nella Larsen and hopefully read Quicksand as well. Wuthering Heights is going to be a reread with Mr H, and the new Endo collection of short stories will fill the gaps.

  1. Do we get to find out wither your travels are taking you? Guessing not the continent, since trains would be more likely than planes, but I’m happy to live in suspense!
